Change Leadership reflects on the ongoing situation and the focus is mainly on implementing the changes that are needed immediately from a strategic viewpoint. Changes Leadership only purpose is to ensure that changes made are being efficiently implemented. It resembles Transformational Leadership in that it includes; conveying the plans and the changes to be made, building understanding and providing sustenance and developing reasons for changes that are necessary for the organization. However, both styles do have some common features, but the different styles have different impacts and it is known that transformational changes produce the best results.
Employees need assurance as to their leaders pledge to change, and need comprehensive answers for some facts such as; the credibility of their leaders, do they agree with and understand the leader’s plans for the future, will the leader help me to adapt to the upheavals of change? Transformational Leaders possess the capability to generate support for their corporate decisions and instill confidence in the employees, therefore effecting changes more effectively.Organizations should have the proper leadership when they need to change. They must choose leaders with the talent to instill transformational changes. This is possible by training managers in the methods of expected changes, adding to their current techniques or altering it as needed.
It is essential to obtain feedbacks to the employee’s reliability in times of change, which can be done in a very simple manner by effective communication. Transformational may not be as periodically focused as Change Leadership on a certain mode of change, but because they possess and demonstrate the capability to motivate change and accept it, this results in increased employee confidence in their leaders. Organizations always need loyal and committed employees, which helps them to achieve their corporate goals. Commitment to employees and changes is an indicator of the progress and productive ability of any organization. This also consolidates the psychological bond between individuals and organizations.
It is an indicator of the employee’s commitment and involvement with the organization. Other factors of organizational change incorporate organizational culture, style of leadership, job satisfaction, personal characters such as gender, age, job duration etc, which determines work behavior, motivation and performance, and empowerment of employees. All factors gravitate to effective leadership, and strong and effective leadership affects employee behavior, attitude and their commitment and loyalty to the organization. Innovation within an organization is generated by the leaders, and how they deal with change and is considered the very core of entrepreneurship.
