Abstract: most teenagers these days claim to have come across pornography at some point in time. Parents as well as the state are to be blamed for this.
The essay below talks about the influence that internet pornography has on teenagers.
The Kaiser Family Foundation has stated that around 70% of teens between the ages of 15 and 17 have come across pornography over the internet by accident. This has been stated in a report known as ‘Generation Rx.com: How young people use the internet for health information.’ It has also been stated that 57 percent of teenagers believe that by having exposure to internet pornography, it is those kids under the age of 18 who are likely to get influenced. 41 percent of teenagers were of the opinion that being exposed to internet pornography was not much of a big deal (Generation).
If 3 out of every 4 teenagers questioned has stated that they have come across internet pornography by accident, this is something which is clearly the fault of the parents for not doing their job properly and upholding their responsibility. However apart from the parents, federal prosecutors and state lawyers are the one’s to blame as they do not take internet pornography to be a serious issue and many times turn a blind eye toward the topic. If there were laws protecting and ensuring that pornography is not carried out, there is no reason why people creating this material would want to draw attention toward them by making such videos.
