The best forward according to many researchers including Brad Binder, PhD is the use of martial arts as the Positive Behaviour Support system. According to the research of Brad Binder, PhD, people have both types of views when it comes to martial arts. Some people believe that martial arts training develop beneficial psychological changes in the individual practicing martial arts and encourage the individual to obtain good moral and ethical development. While others believe that through training in martial arts, there are some possibilities of development of aggression in kids and the factor of violence can enter into the daily routine of school and home of the school going kids (Binder, 1999).

Brad Binder in his research carries out an argumentative approach towards the use and impact of martial arts. In his research, he states that martial arts basically are the arts which teaches and help people learn how to self-defence and develop self-discipline in oneself. There are many disciples of the martial arts. Few of the commonly in practice disciplines are Karate, Judo, Kung Fu, Aikido, Kendo, Tae Kwon Do, Wing Chun etc (Binder, 1999).

These disciplines of martial arts are created from historical clashes between the warriors and the samurais. Basically all these disciplines involve the use of legs and hands though various techniques of kicking, punching and blocking the opponent attack. These techniques were discovered for the purpose of self-defense. In the modern time these disciplines are in practice and are available to everyone. Females and males of all ages can practice martial arts, as it is a very beneficial physical exercise that reduces the mental stress as well as develop moral and ethical values (Iedwab & Standefer, 2000).

According to Michelle Heid, Martial arts is the part of the positive behavior system which can be applied in strategically planed exercises of the Positive Behavior Support (PBS) system for children in the 13 to 18 year old range (Heid, 2009).  This shows that the martial arts are best for the students of 7th and 8th grade who are the subject of this report (Heid, 2009).

According to the research by Dr. Abida Ripley Martial arts can be used as the best alternative to treat the students of 8th and 7th grade to overcome the issues of psychological disorders such as depression, delusions, hallucinations, paranoid fears and other drug-induced reactions. In her research she concluded that martial arts training may help 7th and 8th grader children improve their overall behavior and lead to better school performance (Ripley, 2003). She has described the procedures through which the martial arts can help the children of 7th and 8th grade at risk. Martial arts training stress the development of mental concentration in a number of ways. For example the requirements to perform one technique or set of techniques over and over again in order to perfect it. This increased ability to concentrate is developed gradually over time and also leads to the development of a sense of observation and attentive behavior (Ripley, 2004).
