For which she left the service and joined the Reserves after three months at Fort Carson in Colorado Springs in 1991. One day at Fort Carson as she walked in to her room she found a man already present and he assaulted and raped her. After the incident she returned to work but started drinking wine to keep herself under control.

And one day when she couldn’t resist it any longer she burst out in tears and was admitted to a psychiatric hospital after that. She never reported as she was afraid of the consequences that could follow because military and its men are considered to elite institutions (Flores, 2007).

There are thousands of other cases as well which are not investigated or reported. Recently Pentagon has issued reports which signify that around one third of the military women claim to be sexually harassed. And the number has remained unchanged since although the military claims to have endowed towards the problem.
