The Hay-Bunau Varilla Treaty, between US and Panama is among the  major contributions of US president, Theodore Roosevelt that have made him popular almost in the entire world.

This treaty allowed the US government to construct a canal connecting Atlantic and Pacific oceans, which has greatly contributed to the rising of the US’ economy (ablongman.com).
