Essay: Exploring cooperative education instruction

Sample Essay

Groenewald (2004) posited that phenomenology was a useful research for design for exploring cooperative education instruction and learning practice which, he contended, is an area of education that is not well understood or effected in training situations.  Researchers employing phenomenology rely on their observance and description of the lived experiences of subjects.

This method of investigation is essentially qualitative in nature and is therefore especially relevant with small and select population samples so that a comprehensive study of the research factors can be executed by closely assessing the study subject(s) (see also Research Design Chapter/ Research Manual for Social Science).    Groenewald observed that a phenomenological method proceeds from the belief that the researcher’s own epistemological beliefs and assumptions about the world invariably impact research design, assessment, and interpretations of the findings and that, as such, it is useful to acknowledge these influences in order to account for their potential relationship to research findings.
